4-H Summit is one of the premier leadership opportunities for middle-school-aged youth. The program gives youth the opportunity to network with peers, learn leadership techniques and strategies and master new skills. This year, 4-H Summit will take place at Lake Cumberland and West Kentucky 4-H camps March 17-19.

Summit is a wonderful opportunity for sixth-, seventh- and eighth- grade youth to learn more about leadership opportunities that are open to them when they become senior 4-H members.

Through hands-on workshops, group living, recreation and recognition, 4-H’ers gain independence, improved communication skills and self-confidence. During the event, they will also participate in a community service project and learn about healthy living by completing an event-wide health activity. At the end of the conference, delegates will receive an invitation to attend 4-H Teen Conference.

In addition, Summit gives senior 4-H’ers an opportunity to share their leadership talents with others. All delegates will receive leadership training from members of the State 4-H Teen Council and watch a motivational program put on my members of one of the Kentucky 4-H program boards.

4-H’ers can sign up through the end of February to attend Summit. For more information, contact the (COUNTY NAME) office of the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service.
