University of Kentucky family and consumer sciences extension recently launched FitBlue, a health and wellness app. Come participate with the (COUNTY NAME) Extension office in our first community walking challenge using the app.

FitBlue helps Kentuckians take a holistic approach to their health. The app includes features you would expect, like a fitness tracker and nutrition tracker. It also offers unique features including a farmers market locator, a food locator and workout plans and videos for all ability levels. Users can also choose to receive push notifications that include Plate It Up! Kentucky Proud recipes and other educational materials from UK. To participate in the walking challenge, you must first download the app to your smart phone. The free app is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Our challenge will begin (DATE) and go for (LENGTH OF TIME). (ADD ANY OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHALLENGE HERE SUCH AS INCENTIVES, RELATED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, GROUP WALKS, ETC). To register for the challenge, (REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS).

FitBlue is compatible with Fitbit fitness trackers. Users can manually enter their steps into the app from other fitness tracking devices.

More information on the FitBlue app and healthy lifestyles is available at the (COUNTY NAME) Extension office.
